Some Pictures of Little Evelyn

So, Evelyn (Evie) is about to hit the 48 hour mark. I think that we've reached out to just about everybody, but it's been a bit hectic, so hopefully you'll understand if you haven't already been reached by text, email or through the various facebook updates.

Evelyn was born at 4:06 PM on Wednesday 6/18 (for the record, I had the date pinned and have my iCal to prove it). Jill and I arrived at Piedmont Hospital at 4:30 AM and things progressed smoothly for most of the morning. At about 1:00 PM, Jill began to push. Unfortunately after 2.5 hours of pushing, it was obvious that the baby wasn't going to cooperate, so we had to schedule a c-section to get her out. A bit stressful for both of us - Jill because she'd been trying so hard for so long and me because it's the most helpless feeling in the world.

Regardless, the operation went smoothly and Evelyn was welcomed into the world with much joy. Her vitals: 8 pounds, 6.6 ounces. 21.25 inches long and her head was 14 inches in circumference (maybe why she just wouldn't come out (unfortunately, neither Jill or I were surprised that the child had a fairly large cranium - probably just has a really big brain).

Jill is recovering well - we're in the hospital until Saturday or Sunday depending on how she progresses with the recovery. Both sets of grandparents have been up to help out and we've been grateful for all of the assistance.

A few pictures for now. Certainly more to come in the future
