One month into this grand experiment

So, today we received a wonderful care package from some of our relatives up north - it included some extremely thoughtful gifts for Evie and a few things for Jill and me as well. We were immediately excited about the Utz Crab Chips - a delicacy that has unfortunately not caught on in the South (don't feel too badly for us though as Golden Flake Dill Chips are a pretty good foil to Utz' crowning achievement). Regardless, we were informed that we've been ignoring the blog, and I can't disagree, so here we are.

Evelyn hit the four week mark on Wednesday, and for the most part it has gone according to plan. Not much sleep (can't say we weren't warned), a few impressive crying sessions (again, not a surprise) but mostly a pretty incredible experience.

Jill's folks and my mother have both been up for a little while - helping out Jill once I returned to work after 2 weeks of paternity leave. She's on her own next week, so keep her in your thoughts.

I'm sure I could wax poetic on the wonders of parenthood, but I think that most everyone that reads this blog has kids of their own or has at a minimum heard others talk about their kids at length. So, I'll just go ahead an put up some pictures - the real reason that you're reading this anyways.

P.S. Our apologies for the delayed posting - the non-Facebook generation has been deprived of seeing pictures of Evelyn for the past few weeks. We'll commit to doing a better job in the future.
